What happens on each of the two days
Day one is preparation and it is the whole job. The garage is emptied, the slab is diamond-ground to an open profile rather than acid-etched, and the dust is collected by a vacuum on the grinder rather than left to settle on everything. Cracks are routed and filled, spalled areas are patched, and control joints are either filled or deliberately honoured depending on the system. A moisture test has already been done at the estimate, and where it called for one, a moisture-mitigating primer goes down. Then the base coat is rolled and the vinyl flake is broadcast into it to rejection, which is to say until the surface will not take any more.
Day two is the finish. The loose flake is scraped and vacuumed, which is what produces a smooth surface rather than a gritty one, and the polyaspartic top coat goes on with an anti-slip aggregate suspended in it. Foot traffic returns in six to twelve hours, vehicles in forty-eight to seventy-two, and heavy shelving after about five days.

What to move, and what we move
The garage has to be empty, and the practical question is where the contents go for two days. On most jobs the owner clears it into the driveway under a tarp, which works in the dry season and is uncomfortable in August. We can arrange a container on site for a day where that is easier, and we say so at the estimate rather than leaving it as your problem.
Two things need particular attention. Anything stored on the floor that cannot get dusty should leave entirely, because grinding produces fine dust even with vacuum extraction. And the water heater, the electrical panel and any wall-mounted equipment stay in place, with the floor coated up to and around them, which is why the cove detail at the wall is part of the specification rather than an extra.
What a coated floor is like to live with
Easier to sweep, far easier to mop, and oil wipes off rather than soaking in. Hot tyres are a non-issue on a properly cured polyaspartic top coat. Dropped tools chip the coating in the same way they would chip concrete, and a chip in a flake system is less visible than one in a solid colour, which is a practical argument for flake beyond appearance.
