My driveway in BVL has a 2-inch step at the garage. Can you just fix that panel?
Yes, if the rest of the drive is sound, and we price the whole drive alongside because in Buenaventura Lakes the other panels are usually on the same clock. First the downspout gets extended past the slab; then the panel comes out and goes back on a compacted base. About $1,100 to $1,900 for a 10-by-12 panel in the current index.
We're in Solterra. Can we widen the driveway to fit a third car?
Solterra's guidelines cap an expanded driveway at three cars wide and bar adding walking area, so a third-car width is usually approvable with the ARC packet (survey markup, product sample, our insurance certificate if the Reviewer asks). Polk County permits the right-of-way portion. Plan on the ARC cycle before the work.
Our new pavers in Weslyn Park have a white haze. Did the builder use bad pavers?
No. That is efflorescence, salts migrating out of concrete pavers during the first rainy season. It washes off with an efflorescence cleaner and then the pavers get their first seal. The mistake would be sealing over it.
Is my Poinciana house in Osceola or Polk for the permit?
It depends on the village; the county line runs through the community. The permit finder on this site checks the address against the Census county boundary, and APV's office at 401 Walnut Street can confirm your village. Either way the DCB application goes in first.
Can you pour a patio in July or should we wait?
We pour in July with a first-light start and the slab finished and covered before the afternoon storms; the Kissimmee 2 station averages 16.7 rain days in July, almost all after 2 p.m. If the morning forecast shows more than a 60 percent chance before 2 p.m. we move a day. Waiting for October means a drier calendar but a longer queue.

Nothing here is invented to fill a page, and nothing identifies the person who asked. Where a question includes a detail that would identify a property, the detail is generalised or removed.

Questions that turn out to be common enough to deserve a full treatment get promoted into a guide or a FAQ page, and the entry here then links to it.
